The public library in Batumi, an important sea port and popular tourist destination in Georgia, has recently received 310 books about Chinese culture and Lianyungang donated by the city in Jiangsu Province.

Since entering into sister-city relationship in May 2019, Lianyungang and Batumi have carried out a series of exchanges and cooperation in trade, logistics, culture and education.

As a hub of the Belt and Road initiative, Lianyungang has made comprehensive efforts to deepen cooperation with countries and regions in Central Asia, West Asia and Europe. The donation of books is expected to improve people-to-people exchange and raise the global profile of Lianyungang too.

Efforts will be made to help form a friendly relationship between library of the two cities and further enhance Lianyungang’s cultural and educational exchanges with international sister cities.
