Jiangsu Intellectual Property Administration announced an action plan to improve administrative efforts for protecting intellectual property rights (IPRs) on March 25.
The action plan includes 13 measures in order to protect IPRs from all perspectives. The province will strengthen legal efforts, administrative adjudication of patent infringement dispute, regulation and protection of trademarks, and protection of geographical indications and Olympic symbols.
It will also strengthen the law enforcement and supervision of key areas and in key periods, including e-commerce exhibitions, and increase collaborative IPRs protection. Jiangsu will also strengthen the capacity building of administrative enforcement, improve the long-term protection mechanism, and enhance the assistance service.
To help respond to overseas IPRs disputes, the province will accelerate efforts to build the Jiangsu branch of the National Guidance Center on Handling Overseas IPR Disputes, improve the service capacity, and establish a sound system of expert advisors for overseas IPRs protection.
In addition, the province will expand the channels for collecting information on overseas IPRs, keep enterprises informed of latest development, improve the research of typical cases, and guide enterprises in establishing an effective response mechanism to avoid the risk of IPRs infringement.
