Nearly 100 compete in Jiangsu’s “My Story of Chinese Hanzi” contest

The 2nd “My Story of Chinese Hanzi” Chinese Speech Contest held its semifinals and finals in Nanjing on July 18.

Since its launch in June, nearly 100 foreign nationals from over 30 countries have participated in the contest.

In the finals, contestants made speeches themed around the Chinese character 信 (trust). Their speeches reflected their understanding of Chinese characters and insights into Chinese culture, expressing a strong desire to actively respond to the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Six award-winning students will represent Jiangsu in the national semifinals of “My Story of Chinese Hanzi 2024”, organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
