Yang Yu, a student of Nanjing City Vocational College student, is expected to compete in the final of the 2020 Adobe Certified Associate World Championship to be held in California next year after winning the China final on May 31.
ACA World Championship is a worldwide contest for students aged 13-22 that tests their design skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and has been held seven times so far.
The China competition attracted around 20,000 entries from more than 300 universities and colleges looking to demonstrate their mastery of Adobe products. Then the 151 finalists were tasked to design a public-spirited poster based on the theme of a red fox within eight hours. It took place on May 28 via videoconferencing.
Yang highlighted such details as people’s hands and red fox’s tears in the design to express his hope that human should be kind to animals and achieve a harmonious coexistence with nature.
He Qingqi, another student from the college, won the third prize of the final in China. Teacher Ye Shuyang from the college’s School of Cultural and Creative Arts won the Excellent Instructor Award.
The global finals were originally scheduled to be held in early August but will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
