Currently, Jiangsu has 9 international airports. The airports in Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nantong, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, and Yancheng have opened 42 international (regional) passenger routes and 10 cargo routes.
Visa-free policies and convenient customs clearance procedures have encouraged more cross-border travels during the holiday. On October 1, Nanjing Lukou International Airport welcomed its 2 millionth entry-exit trip in 2024. This largest airport-based border port in Jiangsu handled 53,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips during the National Day holiday, including over 4,000 foreign passengers, representing year-on-year increases of 53.5% and 29%, respectively.
Lianyungang border port is home to the only China-South Korea waterway passenger route in the Yangtze River Delta region. During the holiday, the city’s General Station of Immigration Inspection recorded 104 flights and ferries with over 3,400 passenger trips, reflecting a 58.17% year-on-year increase in the passenger volume.
