Jiangsu Province celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in Nanjing on 29 September, alongside the opening of the 2024 Zijin Culture and Art Festival.

Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress, Xu Kunlin, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and governor of the province, and Zhang Yizhen, chairwoman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference attended the event, together with an audience of more than 1,000.

The Zijin Culture and Art Festival, centred on the 75th anniversary celebration, features a series of programs including new plays, art exhibitions, university student performances, small theatre shows, and cultural activities at the grassroots level.

Provincial leaders, including Xin, Xu and Zhang, also visited a photojournalism exhibition organised by Xinhua News Agency. The exhibition, divided into general and Jiangsu-specific sections, showcased the achievements made over the past 75 years, including the province’s modernisation efforts.
