Qinshan Island in Lianyungang City, one of the 26 islands along Jiangsu Province's 1045.88 km coastline, officially opened its doors to tourists on April 15 with the arrival of Xufu sightseeing boat.

In recent years, the local government has implemented the green development ideas that prioritize environmental protection and people's well-being, taking ecological restoration measures to enhance the island's landscape. In 2022, Qinshan Island successfully obtained a 4A rating, the second highest rating for national tourist attractions in China.

The opening ceremony also included the launch of the 11th Huaguoshan Reading Festival and the 13th Xu Fu Hometown Marine Culture Festival. Xu Fu was a legendary alchemist and explorer in the Qin Dynasty (221-207 BC), and his hometown was said to be in today's Lianyungang.
