Airports in East China’s Jiangsu Province switched to the summer flight schedule on March 28 with new routes and more flights now available to domestic and international passengers.
The airports have increased links to main cities in order to contribute to the "dual circulation" development paradigm, in which domestic and overseas markets reinforce each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay. Nanjing Lukou International Airport opens new flights to Nanchong in Sichuan Province and Kashgar in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and also increases flights to Urumqi, Taiyuan and Guiyang. The number of domestic destinations from airports in Xuzhou, Changzhou, Lianyungang, Huaian, Yancheng and Yangzhou-Taizhou reach 31, 31,33, 32, 36 and 39 respectively. Sunan Shuofang International Airport handles 210 flights a day to 45 domestic cities. Nantong Xingdong International Airport now boasts nearly 800 flights to 44 domestic cities per week, a record high.
With the coordination and support of the COVID-19 response authorities, Nanjing’s international and regional flights to destinations including Macao, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Manila, Hanoi, Vancouver, Frankfurt and Milan will continue as planned. Changzhou Airport will maintain flights to Osaka and Macao. Yancheng Airport will resume flight to Seoul in due course. Flights from Sunan Shuofang International Airport to Tokyo, Singapore, Manila and Macao will also keep the service as in the last season.
