The "Go Jiangsu" social media tour, organized by the Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government, came to Liyang City on October 17 and 18.
With the theme of "Golden Harvest", the event invited 10 foreigners from 7 countries including the United States, Britain, Nigeria and Bangladesh to have an immersive experience of Liyang’s economic development, local customs and cultural charm.
Qingfeng Village in Nandu Town has recently gone viral on social media as its signature stores of steamed bread and rice wine have attracted more and more visitors. Participants in the tour were impressed by the agritourism model, the vibrant Paddy Field Music Festival and the 2nd Harvest Festival.
Driving on Liyang’s Highway No.1 is also an incredible feast for the eyes as people can enjoy the lush trees on Wawu Mountain and the sparkling Fairy Lake. Visitors gave a thumbs-up to the beautiful natural environment and the development path to combine agriculture and tourism.
The road, 365 kilometers long, has linked several scenic areas and characteristic rural villages to develop tourism, bringing jobs to 54,000 farmers.
The Information Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government and China Daily selected the participants from over 2.2 million fans of the province’s overseas social media accounts. The tour is meant to show the province’s unique culture and booming development. Ten events have been organized for the event, a great way to promote Jiangsu’s international exchange.
