Jiangsu plans to foster new quality productive forces in the agriculture sector by focusing on the deep processing of agricultural products and adopting a whole-industry-chain approach, according to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on June 25.

Jiangsu will emphasize scientific and technological innovation while cultivating nationally leading products. It will highlight the in-depth transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, particularly the deep processing of agricultural products.

The province will support the development of leading enterprises and “leisure agriculture,” a form of agritourism, and coordinate industry and innovation chains.

Jiangsu will also encourage cross-regional integrated development and construct innovation hubs, areas of premium agricultural products, and clusters of deep processing, making the later a key driver of rural vitalization.
