Jiangsu’s enterprises have played a key role in delivering comprehensive technologies and services for the 19th Asian Games that opened in Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province on September 23.
Jiangyin Sifang Swimming Rehabilitation Industry Co Ltd, a leading supplier of swimming equipment, helped build the pool for swimming and diving events at the Huanglong Sports Center. Unlike traditional pools made of reinforced concrete or tiles, this assembled competition pool uses new composite materials for easy installation and adjustments.
Suzhou-based magAssist, one of the leading medical devices companies in China, has supplied its advanced ECMO treatment to improve emergency response capabilities in vehicles designated for use at the Asian Games venues.
Wuxi Dongfang High-speed Craft Development Co Ltd, a national high-tech enterprise, has provided 40-meter-long vessels designed to improve sightseeing experiences on the city’s waterway. The ship can reach speeds of 16.5 km per hour and accommodate up to 150 passengers.
According to the company’s general manager Li Fenglei, the vessel has been customized to meet the height requirements and features a retractable glass awning on the deck. Moreover, all power and equipment compartments are placed in the lower part of the ship, increasing available passenger space to 450 square meters.
The largest multi-sport event in Asia also features extensive use of new technologies, such as a 5G-powered driverless bus. Developed by Higer Bus Co Ltd, the L4 autonomous bus measures 6.5 meters in length, and seats 11 passengers, with a top speed exceeding 50 km/hour.
