A delegation led by Xu Kunlin, governor of Jiangsu Province, visited Germany from September 16 to 18.

During the visit, Xu gave a keynote speech at the Jiangsu-Germany Industrial Cooperation Forum in Dusseldorf. The event attracted more than 400 participants, including representatives from German enterprises and trade partners from Denmark, France, and the Netherlands.

Noting the close economic and trade cooperation between Jiangsu and Germany, Xu urged both sides to implement the important consensus of the two state leaders, widen industrial collaboration, boost trade, stimulate innovation, and explore opportunities in sustainable development and exchange, setting more examples for China-Germany cooperation.

Speakers at the forum represented a range of companies, including BSH Home Appliances, XCMG, Siemens, Robo Technik, Danfoss and Evonik Industries. Notably, the forum witnessed the signing of agreements for 26 joint ventures with a total investment of $2 billion.

In recent years, German enterprises have seen robust growth in Jiangsu, and the province’s companies also actively explored European markets. These efforts have contributed significantly to the economic and trade relations between China and Europe.

In meeting with executives of BMW and Siemens, Xu exchanged views with the executives for further cooperation.

Additionally, at the European R&D center of XCMG, Xu emphasized the importance of integrating European resources with Jiangsu’s manufacturing capabilities to bolster the development of high-quality, high-end products and technologies.

His visit coincided with the 35th anniversary of the sister-state relationship between Jiangsu and North Rhine-Westphalia. In meeting with the minister president of North-Rhine Westphalia, Xu called for strengthening communication and exchange at the local level, and advancing cooperation in the sectors of green energy, biomedicine, energy conservation and environmental protection.
