Jiangsu has recently released 28 measures aimed at promoting sustained economic recovery, including initiatives related to employment, elderly care, and other fields to improve people's livelihoods.

A multi-pronged approach to stabilize employment

At a job fair for fresh graduates in Nanjing on September 6, more than 30 employers, including China Mobile’s Nanjing Branch, provided about 280 jobs, while the online component included job openings from more than 90 companies. This year, Jiangsu has organized more than 2,000 job fairs to help fresh graduates find employment.

"Jiangsu’s measures are aimed at broadening employment avenues and bolstering support for industries and enterprises hiring fresh graduates," said Xia Wenzhi, director of the Provincial Employment Management Center.

Last year, Jiangsu became the first province in China to launch a financial service product designed to enhance employment stability. This year, more financial institutions have joined this program, which has extended its low-interest loan offerings to include private companies with five employees as well as individual industrial and commercial households employing three people. The program has so far allocated 60.5 billion yuan of loans to 15,900 companies, including about 39.25 billion yuan to 12,300 companies this year.

Supporting elderly care services

Jiangsu plans to provide a one-time relief subsidy to private providers of elderly care services this year as well. This initiative is expected to grant 125 million yuan to the province’s more than 1,500 private elderly care facilities.

To further assist private service providers, the province will streamline project planning, land use, financial support, tax and fee reduction or exemptions. Jiangsu also commits to implement policies related to the construction, operational subsidies, job subsidies and other relevant fields of the elderly care services.
