Jiangsu Province has accelerated the integrated development of the digital and the real economies, with more than 15,000 enterprises undergoing their digital or intelligent transformation projects in the first half of the year.

Building a modern industrial system requires a solid foundation of the real economy as well as robust digital infrastructure. It's necessary to deeply integrate the digital economy with manufacturing and modern service industries, enhancing the modernization of the industrial chain.

Jiangsu has facilitated the digital and intelligent transformation of enterprises, proactively responding to the new round of technological revolution and industrial change, and aims to become a powerhouse of integrating digital and real economies, said Xu Jun, deputy director of the province's Department of Industry and Information Technology.

Provincial and municipal authorities have provided free consultation services for digital and intelligent transformation at 18,000 enterprises this year. In the first half of the year, more than 15,000 enterprises have implemented such transformation initiatives.

The province has introduced a guideline covering 40 industrial chains and promoted over 600 application scenarios. In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises are encouraged to implement digital transformation, such as migrating the business to the cloud.

Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has continued development of national and provincial-level pilot zones for Big Data, blockchain and Internet of Vehicles at a high standard. Suzhou City has sped up the construction of a national pilot zone for innovation and development of new-generation artificial intelligence.

In the first half of the year, the province's electronic and information products manufacturing sector registered main business revenue of 1.9 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 7%, and the software and IT service industry achieved revenue of about 650 billion yuan.

Gao Qing, deputy director of the province's Development and Reform Commission, said Jiangsu will deepen the integration of digital and real economies, accelerate the application of major scientific and technological achievements, and enhance the core competitiveness of the digital economy.
