Jiangsu has accelerated the development of electric vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cells amid efforts to promote high-quality growth.
Jiangsu has included electric vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cells, also known as the new "three major items" in China's exports, into its strategy of building 16 advanced manufacturing clusters. The province has created 16 enterprise technology centers in the automotive sector recognized at the national level.
From January to June this year, the province's production and sales of new energy vehicles amounted to 406,000 units and 404,000 units, respectively, up 78.5% and 82.9%.
To facilitate exports, Nanjing Customs has taken measures to enhance customs clearance and ensure the smooth operation of the industry chain and supply chain. In addition, ports across the province have optimized the transport modes and capacity.
In the first half of this year, Jiangsu's export of the three tech-intensive green products totaled more than 100 billion yuan, an increase of 29.6% year-on-year. The added value of enterprises above the designated size in the sectors of new energy vehicles, solar cells and components, and lithium batteries registered a year-on-year growth of 86.5%, 36.9% and 28.8%, respectively.
