Lianyungang Zhongfu Lianzhong Composites Group Co Ltd provided the 123-meter-long blades for the world's first 16 MW offshore wind farm in Pingtan County of Fujian Province, which completed installation on June 28.

This marks China's longest wind turbine blade installed, and the power generation capacity increases as the blade becomes longer.

Qiao Guanghui, president of Zhongfu Lianzhong, said the wind turbine has the world's longest impeller diameter of 252 meters and, when rotating, can catch wind in an area of 50,000 square meters, equivalent to seven soccer fields.

Qiao also said this unit can generate 34.2 kWh per rotation at full wind speed, which is equivalent to the average electricity consumption of a family of three for a week.

Larger blades improve power generation efficiency and reduce the cost of wind farms, thus contributing more to the goals of peaking carbon emission and achieving carbon neutrality, according to Qiao.

The company's deputy general manager Liu Weisheng added that the blade weighs over 50 tons and is primarily made of carbon fiber, which helps reduce weight by 20%.
