Jiangsu Province registered its 1,000th freight train trips to Europe and Central Asia this year on June 16 when a train loaded with export products, such as Little Swan water heaters and Sanfame Group's PET chips, departed from the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics cooperation base.
Compared with 2021 and 2022, the province reached the annual milestone 72 days and 12 days earlier, respectively.
Among the achievements, the freight train services contributed to a foreign trade value of 200 million yuan this year. The coastal city of Lianyungang deepened logistics connections with countries in Central Asia, and the new trade route between Nanjing and Minsk maintained stable operations.
In addition, Jiangsu has ensured the smooth operation of chartered trains for key enterprises to export passenger vehicles and cold chain products to engage in cross-border e-commerce.
In the period from January to May, Jiangsu ranked first among province-level regions in terms of export volume through JSQ freight vehicles. In June, Xuzhou became the first city in Jiangsu to open the cold chain train service to Russia. Freight trains from Suzhou have also increased efforts to provide targeted support for cross-border e-commerce.
Additionally, the province has also promoted the digital RMB settlement for China-Europe freight train services and advanced the digital transformation to facilitate trade.
