The trade group from Jiangsu achieved a steady growth of turnover at the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) which concluded on November 10, maintaining the second place in the country.
As a member of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), SUMEC has actively used the CIIE to expand the import of high-end equipment, bulk commodities and consumer products. It signed deals for 16 projects with a total turnover of $2 billion, including purchase agreements with German, Japanese and Norwegian companies.
In the fair, Jiangsu Overseas Group (JOC) also entered into major agreements with well-known food brands. Its total trade deals in the fair in five years amounted to $1 billion.
Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), one of China's top excavator manufacturers, also signed letters of intent to purchase worth $60 million with four suppliers including Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Linde Hydraulics. XCMG has built a network of more than 4,000 enterprises in the world, creating a most complete and comprehensive machinery industry chain.

At the 5th CIIE, Changzhou Dahua Import and Export Group, a major importer of food commodities, increased its purchase of jellyfish from Mexico and Indonesia and frozen shrimp from India, which had good sales in East China in the past.
Nanjing Guihuaya Group, which specializes in the sale of agricultural and sideline products, purchased mainly quality beef products and reached deals worth $200 million.
