Jiangsu Province ranked first in infrastructure construction for Internet development in China, according to a report released during the 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit on November 9.

The coastal province took the national lead by building eight dedicated channels for international Internet data transmission. By 2021, Jiangsu had 131,000 5G base stations and about 34.45 million 5G mobile users.

Jiangsu also had third largest digital economy in China as the revenue of software and information services hit 1.2 trillion yuan. Jiangsu had more than 1,000 enterprises specialized in artificial intelligence, and the AI-related industry also exceeded 200 billion yuan.

The report showed China's top 5 regions for Internet development are Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.
