XCA2600, the world’s largest all-terrain crane manufactured by Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), successfully lifted 173 tonnes during a trial operation on the afternoon of September 2.

Over the past five years, the construction machinery manufacturer has achieved new technological breakthroughs and also maked new world records with its all-terrain crane series, which were used mainly for the installation of wind turbines.

XCA2600 has integrated the company’s core technologies in high-performance flexible boom, super lifting and independent suspension system. The product’s chief designer Li Changqing said that the new technology improves the lifting height by 20 meters and lifting capacity by 40%.

XCA2600 is the world's first equipment equipped with a 10-axis chassis, which can be swapped with XCC2600, the world's largest crawler crane, in about two hours, according to Li. XCA2600 can be used to install wind turbines at 160 meters tall and with an 8MW generating capacity, improving the installation efficiency by 20%.
