A delegation from Suzhou visited Suqian on December 26 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their collaborative development as well as the 15th anniversary of the Suzhou-Suqian Industrial Park, modeled on the successful Suzhou Industrial Park.
At the development conference, Wang Hao, secretary of the CPC Suqian Committee, said the Suzhou-Suqian Industrial Park has played a leading role in Suqian’s industrial development, investment inflow and urban renewal. Suqian will make full use of the park as a platform to accelerate the communication, industrial collaboration and talent exchange between the south and north areas in the province and also further expand the application of Suzhou’s best practices and ideas.
Wu Qingwen, deputy secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee and also actor mayor, said Suzhou has co-developed six industrial parks since 2006 and the cooperation with Suqian has made particularly rapid progress. The park has ranked 1st for 11 times in a row among such joint industrial parks built in the province, realizing the win-win situation between the two sides.
Over the past 15 years, the industrial park has followed the principle of “learning from Singapore’s ideas, spreading Suzhou’s good practices and aligning with Suqian’s actual situation.” It has spearheaded the city’s industrialization, urbanization, export-oriented economy and high-quality development by hosting investment of more than 42 billion yuan. Featuring industries of precision machinery, electronic information and new materials, the park’s main economic indicators rose by 30% year on year on average.
