The 2021 World Internet of Things (IoT) Exposition, China's top IoT event, kicked off in Wuxi City of Jiangsu Province on October 23.
Vice Governor Hu Guangjie said Jiangsu has grasped the opportunity in the industrial digital transformation and achieved remarkable progress in the IoT development, especially with the Wuxi-based national sensor network innovation demonstration zone as the core vehicle and two cities – Suzhou and Nanjing- as the support hubs.
China’s IoT industry reached over 2.4 trillion yuan ($375.8 billion) by the end of 2020, and the total number of IoT patent applications exceeded 10,000. A full-fledged industry chain covering intelligent sensing, information transmission and processing, and application is basically taking shape in the country, which has also made IoT one of seven priorities in digital economy development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
The three-day event included a summit, an exhibition featuring the latest IoT applications and products, and many forums. Furthermore, the event saw the signing of agreement for 20 key projects in artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, advanced manufacturing, industrial Internet and other fields.
