Suzhou New District has recently signed a cooperation agreement with Knorr-Bremse, a German manufacturer of braking and control systems for commercial vehicles.
The German manufacturer will increase investment in the high-tech zone, open a new R&D centre and production base for commercial vehicle systems, and also contribute to public welfare programs.
With a presence in over 30 countries and at 100 locations, the group opened a company in Suzhou in 2004, making it the main production base for Chinese market.
The new R&D centre and production site will focus on the development and production of intelligent driving, steering and automatic transmission control systems for commercial vehicles. The annual sales of this base are expected to reach 2 billion yuan in the coming years.
