Over 600 people from Jiangsu Province participated in the Fifth Silk Road International Exposition, which opened on May 11 in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province.
The expo was held concurrently with the Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China.
By noon, Jiangsu had saw deals inked for 67 projects with a total investment of 15.6 billion yuan at the fair. Then in the afternoon, a collective ceremony of agreement signing for 26 projects was held, which involved a total investment of 7.25 billion yuan.
These projects cover eight fields including modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, food and medicine, high-tech, infrastructure, and environmental protection.
Themed "Interconnection, Contribution and Shared Benefits," the expo has attracted more than 1,900 envoys and guests from 98 countries and regions, with deeper Belt and Road economic cooperation one of the hot topics on agenda. Jiangsu plays an important role in the initiative as it’s home to both the land and sea-based projects.
