Changzhou Benniu International Airport welcomed the arrival of its first all-cargo plane from Manila with a water salute conducted by four fire engines on the afternoon of March 15.

The flight links Changzhou with Manila, the largest port in the Philippines and also a transit hub for international freight transportation. The airport and the comprehensive bonded zone in Changzhou cooperated to launch the international flight to support the cross-border e-commerce.

There will be five flights per week in the future, with three flights operational in the first phase and each flight with about 10 tons of freight exported to Southeast Asia. The new service is estimated to help the airport handle 3,500 tons of air cargo and mail a year.
