The 20th Plenum of Inter-city Conference on the Yangtze River Delta Economic Coordination was held in Lianyungang City of Jiangsu Province on September 16, attracting mayors and representatives from 41 cities in the delta region.

With the theme of “new driving force, new development pattern and new progress”, the meeting emphasized the importance of integration and high-quality as two key parts in the delta that consists of Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

Starting from the actual demand, efforts will be made to give full play to the role of the city cooperation platform, further improve the service and coordination mechanism, break the administrative barriers, and adopt the pro-integration ideas and measures.

Cities will facilitate the smooth flow of production factors, align with comparative advantages of each area, pool resources together to promote high-quality development, and make growth in the delta’s city clusters more dynamic and resilient.

The meeting saw the signing of agreements for 19 programs, such as building the Yangtze River Delta Green Building Innovation Center and organizing the Yangtze River Delta Science and Technology Achievement Fair.
