Jiangsu’s transport sector has gone all out to address outstanding problems and help resume the construction of major projects in the province after the disruption of the COVID-19 outbreak since early this year.
During the May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, tens of thousands of workers stuck to their positions at construction sites to accelerate the progress delayed by the pandemic, including the Changzhou section of the Liyang-Gaochun Expressway.
Wang Guohua, an officer of the road project, said efforts have been made to adjust planning and speed up construction while all equipment and builders went full steam ahead in order to complete construction in September.
Thanks to hard efforts of builders, smooth progress was also made in No 5 and No 6 piers of the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge. Construction of the bridge, an important part of Jiangsu’s transport network, started in last year and is expected to complete a number or milestones this year. The double deck cable-stayed bridge will have a main span of 1,176 meters.
