Huai'an City in Jiangsu Province commenced construction of 109 major projects with a total investment of 53.31 billion yuan ($7.69 billion) on March 5. 

They include 63 industrial projects, 27 service projects, and 19 agricultural projects with good development potential.  

Huai'an has scheduled a total of 220 key projects at city level for 2020.  

The city’s Party Chief, Cai Lixin, said these projects are an important growth engine of high-quality economic development and will strongly support the city’s rapid rise.  

To ensure the progress of such projects, they will be tied to work of city leaders. Each project will have its own report specifying construction progress and a monthly schedule.

The city will adopt a robust supervision mechanism that includes monthly coordination, quarterly review, biannual field-visit and annual assessment. Huai’an will ensure efforts to achieve economic and social development while continuing epidemic prevention and control.
