The Information Office of Jiangsu People’s Government held a press conference on the afternoon of February 19 to further explain the 33 measures recently rolled out to ensure the fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak and also promote economic and social development.
Jiangsu has vowed to make scientific, precise and robust efforts to prevent and control the epidemic. So far, more than 70 percent of industrial enterprises above the designated size in Jiangsu has resumed operation.
In line with the epidemic’s development, Jiangsu’s responses center on county-based monitoring and risk assessment efforts with corresponding and flexible measures to be placed.
The province will support orderly resumption of operation by companies in three key categories- those related to public services and facilities, those critical to the anti-epidemic efforts and those related to daily necessities. Efforts will also be made to help small and medium-sized enterprises to resume work.
The provincial authority will decide the time to open schools and emphasize thoughtful organization, such as avoiding the peak hour.
Various measures will be taken to increase the supply of key materials for epidemic prevention and control, support enterprises to improve production capacity, and help foreign trade enterprises to expand purchase of medical supplies from abroad.
The province will also ensure the progress in spring farming, guarantee the supply and stable prices of agricultural supplies, and meet the needs of daily necessities.
Jiangsu’s transportation sector will adopt a differentiated approach to accomplish the dual goals. In low-risk areas, there shall be no barriers or checkpoints on the road to restrict the vehicles. In high-risk areas, efforts can be made to control the vehicles use and also resume the work and get people’s life back to normal step by step.
