Jiangsu opens online medical services to epidemic-hit Huangshi

On the morning of February 19, Yang Yang, a doctor from Northern Jiangsu People’s Hospital, provided psychological counselling through video conference for Mr. Hu, a resident of Huangshi City in Hubei Province, hit hard by COVID-19.

 

This is the first online consulting service that residents of the Huangshi have received on the "Jiangsu-Huangshi Online Medical Service" platform.

In line with an interprovincial pairing-assistance program, Jiangsu Health Commission established the online system to offer services for residents of Huangshi and Hubei.

 

The first batch of 732 doctors at and above the associate chief level from 13 tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu, including Jiangsu People’s Hospital, Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital, have provided online consulting services covering all clinical specialties.

 

With their cell phone, residents of Huangshi and Hubei access the online system to obtain free medical advice on common and chronic diseases, fever, and psychological problems through images and text or video chat.
