The World Taekwondo Council has elected Wuxi City in Jiangsu Province as host of the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships following a competitive bid process during a meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 28.
Wuxi secured 14 out of 26 eligible votes, surpassing rival bids from Charlotte (USA), Sofia (Bulgaria), and Zagreb (Croatia).
Five years ago, Wuxi won the bid to host the 2021 World Taekwondo Championships. However, the event was eventually rescheduled and held in Guadalajara, Mexico due to the pandemic.
