Jiangsu Province, a major export-oriented economic powerhouse in China, celebrated its international friendship network by launching the International Youth Painting Exhibition 2021 in Nanjing on November 30.

The exhibition this year features Mogilev, Belarus and Vaud, Switzerland, which are sister-provinces of Jiangsu. It also highlights Nanjing’s two sister-cities - Bandar Seri Begawan of Brunei and Kathmandu of Nepal – as well as Pointe-Noire of Congo, a sister-city of Suzhou.

In recent years, Jiangsu has strengthened efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation at the provincial and city levels through the friendship program. Such efforts have enhanced mutual trust, economic link, people-to-people exchange and COVID-19 response, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

The youth painting exhibition, inaugurated in 2016, has attracted the participation of 170,000 students from nearly 3,000 schools in 100 sister-cities from 50 countries as well as the province’s big cities. It has become a flagship program of Jiangsu to promote international cultural exchange.
