Wu Zhenglong meets Jonathan Choi, chairman of Sunwah Group

Jiangsu governor Wu Zhenglong met a delegation led by Jonathan Choi Koon-shum, chairman of Hong Kong-based Sunwah Group, in Nanjing on May 11.

Wu welcomed the delegation’s visit, expressed his gratitude to Sunwah Group for its long-standing contribution to the economic and social development of Jiangsu, and also conveyed the greetings from Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.

Wu said both sides should make good use of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong cooperation mechanism and meet the needs of the country by giving play to Hong Kong's strengths and Jiangsu's advantages. Efforts are needed to deepen cooperation and make strides in strategic initiatives including the Belt and Road, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, supporting the forming of a new development pattern for the whole country.

Wu also said Jiangsu will create the first-class business environment and fully support the development of Hong Kong enterprises in the province, including Sunwah Group, and make greater contribution to the long-term stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.

Jonathan Choi introduced the group’s history of investment and development in Jiangsu as well as the latest projects, expressing thanks to the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and provincial government for their support and assistance.

He also said that Jiangsu has obvious geographical advantages as an intersection of development strategies and excellent market environment so the group is confident in the province’s future development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the group will continue to increase investment and land more high-quality projects in Jiangsu so as to promote the province’s high-quality development.
