East China’s Jiangsu Province has established an alliance of modern agricultural industrial parks to facilitate cooperation and high-level development.

A non-profit and open network, the organization is composed of farms, research institutes and leading enterprises across the province.

Jiangsu took the national lead in launching modern agricultural industrial parks at the provincial level in 2010. After ten years, the province is home to two such parks recognized at the state level, eight candidate parks currently applying for the recognition, and 52 exemplary parks at the provincial level. By far, Jiangsu has a total of 112 modern agricultural and fishery industrial parks.

Tang Mingzhen, chief agronomist of the Jiangsu Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that the department will strengthen guidance to the alliance, coordinate and solve the difficulties in a timely manner, and support its work. Tang also urged members of the alliance to join forces and play active roles in improving the agricultural and rural development in the province.
