The Huai’an-Zhenjiang section of the Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High-speed Railway started joint tests on September 1.
The China Railway 24th Bureau Group said the tests will complete by the end of November. The tests will look at the performance and function of various systems including power supply and risk control.
The new railway linking Lianyungang and Zhenjiang will be an important passage connecting north and south in central Jiangsu. The railway line is 305 kilometers long and has eight stations in Huai’an-Zhenjiang section, with a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
Construction of the Huai’an-Zhenjiang section started in September 2015. When the new line opens, Zhenjiang will become a railway hub as it is also linked to Nanjing-Shanghai Intercity Railway. It will also greatly improve the railway network in the coastal province.
