The Yangtze River Delta Eco-friendly Industry Chain Alliance was officially launched in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province on November 3.
One of the most dynamic regions in China's economic development, the delta also faces daunting challenges to protect ecology and environment. The alliance aims to integrate resources of science, education and industry in the region, build a cross-sector platform for cooperation and exchange, join forces to facilitate technical breakthroughs, and strengthen collaboration across the industry chain and supply chain.
The 43 council members consist of universities, research institutions, large state-owned enterprises and listed enterprises, with Jiangsu Environmental Protection Group as the chair. The organization also includes an expert panel with nine academicians and four well-known industry experts, who will provide advice on the development and major decisions.
Fang Binbin, president of Jiangsu Environmental Protection Group, said the alliance will focus on four tasks – building a think tank to support the eco-friendly industry, boosting technical innovation and industrial application, supporting the forming of a modern environmental governance system, and establishing an open platform for cooperation and exchanges.
