The Fiscal Department and the Film Administration in Jiangsu Province announced on November 24 the second provision of 13.61 million yuan to support the local film industry.

The fund, covered by the special transfer payment from the central government, is used as a reward for cinemas that stand out in screening domestic films, to support equipment upgrade in cinemas, and to subsidize new cinemas in townships.

In this second round of funding, cinemas were selected according to the data of the National Film Ticketing Integrated Information Management System and the views of the local film bureaus. Upon the verification of the Jiangsu Film Industry Development Fund, 850 movie theaters were recognized for screening domestic films, 25 new movie theaters received the subsidy, and a number of cinemas got rewarded for equipment upgrade.

The Film Administration in Jiangsu Province will also provide funding for outstanding films and major film-centered programs before the end of the year.
