Teng Zhiwu runs a farm in Puqiao Township, Pukou District and his wife is expecting a baby so the family is really placed under stress to sell products amid the fight against the pandemic.
With the help of Nanjing Branch, the family finally shipped 2,250 kilograms of freshly picked corn in early morning on August 5.
Liu Jie, a manager of the branch’s citywide express delivery service, said he hopes more customers can have the chance to enjoy the quality products and also help farmers overcome their temporary difficulties.
The city’s 262 family-run farms and cooperatives now face the challenge of dull sales of over 500,000 kilograms of agricultural products. The branch has contacted the city's Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and an association to facility the products transportation and also provided discounts to farmers.
