Jiangsu is holding more than 30 job fairs this autumn to support its “1650” development strategy, which aims to establish 16 competitive industrial clusters and 50 key industrial chains.
The province’s universities are stepping up efforts to help enhance the manufacturing industry and supply chains by encouraging their students to better explore relevant career paths.
For example, Nanjing University’s job fair focused on digital industries and the semiconductor sector, while Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics highlighted opportunities in aerospace and high-end equipment manufacturing.
On the afternoon of October 17, the job fair at Nanjing Agricultural University offered 11,000 positions from 254 organizations, attracting nearly 4,000 graduates specializing in agricultural fields. With increased investment in agricultural research, salaries for high-level technical talent have risen. Positions in veterinary science, nutrition, and environmental technology now offer 200,000 to 400,000 yuan per year.
Faced with high employer demands, graduates with strong research and practical experience are finding more opportunities. Zhang Wei, a 2025 graduate of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, has participated in a project sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation and led a project too. Obtaining several patents from research, he said he has already received interview invitations from three companies.
