Jiangsu plans to invest 42.7 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in transport infrastructure projects in 2024, including 24 express ways and river-passing channels, according to a work conference of the Jiangsu Transport Engineering Construction Bureau.
In 2023, Jiangsu completed transport investment totaling 51.15 billion yuan, exceeding the annual plan, thanks to efforts in project management and efficiency improvement.
Among the projects for 2024 are the Jianhu-Xinghua section of the Funing -Liyang Expressway, the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge, the expansion of the Pingchao-Guangling section of the Shanghai–Xi'an Expressway, the Sucheng-Sihong section of the Yancheng–Luoyang Expressway, and the Yangkou Port-Rudong section of an expressway.
The province will also accelerate the construction of 15 projects, including the Changzhou-Taixing Yangtze River Bridge, the Zhangjigang-Jingjiang-Rugao Yangtze River Bridge, the Lianyungang-Huai’an section of the Changchun–Shenzhen Expressway, and the Dongtai-Xinghua Expressway.
