Jiangsu plans to host at least 1,000 job fairs by the end of December to help students graduating next year in entering the job market.
A job fair opened at Nanjing International Expo Center on October 21. It was jointly organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, and the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security. A total of 1,218 employers offered 69,000 positions, drawing nearly 20,000 students.
Representatives from some companies noted a significant talent shortage in fields, such as integrated circuits, new energy, new materials, biotechnology, next-generation IT, software, and high-end equipment manufacturing.
Approximately 730,000 students in Jiangsu will graduate from universities next year. To assist these prospective job-seekers, the province has implemented various measures earlier than usual, including the launch of job fair as early as September.
Between October and November, the Department of Education will cooperate with other departments and organizations to conduct a series of employment campaigns, including 28 job fairs aimed at different industries.
