Suzhou City has upgraded Su-Pay, the mobile payment tool for foreigners visiting China. The service now allows application and activation via QR code scanning, eliminating the need to download and install an app.
Su-Pay 2.0 has expanded its user base to include all foreign visitors and residents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan on short-term stays. Users can now open accounts from any location within Jiangsu and utilize the payment solution for transactions nationwide.
This upgrade features a streamlined application process, enabling users to access the service in as little as five minutes. Transaction limits have also been increased to 10,000 yuan daily and 200,000 yuan annually.
The Su-Pay enhancement represents an innovative step by Suzhou to improve financial and digital payment services. By enhancing the compatibility and inclusiveness of its mobile payment services, Suzhou aims to support a higher level of opening up.
