The 4th Grand Canal City Cultural and Tourism Consumption Forum outlined new development highlights in the province over the past year on September 24.
The rankings listed the popular tourist destinations, innovative retail scenarios and trending topics associated with culture and tourism.

The 15 top-rated tourist attractions included the Laomendong historical and cultural block in Nanjing, the Nianhuwan scenic area in Wuxi, and the Oriental Salt Lake Resort in Changzhou. These destinations feature different characteristics, such as cultural legacy, beautiful natural landscape, and integration of travelling and recreation.
The study shows camping is rising in popularity too. For example, the campsite at Yaoxiangguo scenic area in Jinhu County, Huai'an City became an ideal place to connect with the nature. Camping services at Yanhu Village in Yangzhou City also blended folk music performances, bonfire party, open-air cinemas and BBQs.
Among the cities, Xuzhou as the birthplace of Han culture promoted the kite-centered culture, with a festival held at the city’s Dalong Lake resort. Slender West Lake in Yangzhou City hosted night tours, markets in honor of traditional culture, e-commerce livestreaming, flash mob in traditional Han-style clothes, and other programs onsite and online.
