Amid the COVID-19 prevention and control measures still in place, Nanjing has gradually reopened the tourist attractions closed due to a new cluster of infections that began to emerge last month.

After Nanjing cleared all medium and high-risk areas for COVID-19 on August 19, scenic spots are now open but running at half of the capacity, according to the city’s bureau of culture and tourism .

Xuanwu Lake Scenic Spot announced on its official WeChat account that the outdoor area is open from 6:00 to 19:00 but indoor exhibitions is still closed. Visitors need to make the booking in advance and comply with pandemic restrictions including wearing a mask and having temperature taken.

Zhongshan Mountain National Park, one of the first batch of 5A scenic areas in China, also reopened some of the outdoor areas including the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum area from 8:00 to 17:00 and the Ming Tomb area from 7:00 to 18:00.

Public parks in the city are also receiving visitors in an orderly manner. The Jinling Jungle, a High Ropes Course in Jubaoshan Park, will open on August 28 and only admit visitors who have booked online.

The Chishan Lake Wetland Park and Niushou Mountain Culture and Tourism Zone are still closed but may open when they are ready.
