The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee convened an economic work conference in Nanjing on December 24. The conference studied the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, implemented the decisions by the eighth plenary session of the 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, summarized this year's economic development efforts, analyzed the current economic situation, and planned tasks for the upcoming year.
Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, delivered a speech. Governor Xu Kunlin provided a summary of the meeting. Zhang Yizhen, chairwoman of Jiangsu Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also attended the meeting.
The conference noted that Jiangsu has continued to solidify its economic development foundation this year, further optimize its structure, and significantly enhance the economic quality and efficiency. These efforts have contributed to the national economic situation and built momentum for future development.
To ensure progress in next year's economic work, Jiangsu will adhere to the guidance of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The province aims to promote high-quality development, deepen comprehensive reforms, expand high-level opening, foster new quality productive forces suited to local conditions, and strengthen the economic recovery, thereby making greater contributions to the national development.
The conference emphasized that Jiangsu's economy has maintained robust development, with increased resilience and more advantages in industries, technology, talent and business environment.
According to the meeting, Jiangsu will enhance the consumption capability and expectations of its citizens, focus on the role of major projects and government investments to vigorously boost consumption, and improve investment efficiency. With technological innovation leading the development of new quality productive forces, Jiangsu aims to accelerate the implementation of key reform measures and stimulate the vitality of various market players.
The province will also make efforts to cultivate new growth drivers in foreign trade, and address the concerns of foreign investors and difficulties in project implementation. Jiangsu will coordinate efforts in new urbanization and comprehensive rural revitalization, implementing a five-year action plan for people-centered urbanization and promoting common prosperity in urban and rural areas.
In implementing major national strategies, Jiangsu will promote complementary advantages and strengths across different regions, creating new growth points . Efforts will be made to create a healthy development environment for green and low-carbon industries while advancing carbon reduction and sustainable growth.
The province will focus on increasing the income and reducing the burden of low- and middle-income groups, enhancing the sense of gain, happiness, and safety among the public.
The meeting also stressed the need to promote consumption, increase income, and enhance people's livelihood through high-quality full employment, and ensure proper services in education, healthcare, childbirth, elderly care, and support for disadvantaged groups, thus unleashing consumer potential through improvements in people's livelihood.
Jiangsu will take effective measures to promote government investment, private investment, and foreign investment, leveraging the guiding role of government investment. The province will actively advance technological, industrial, and business innovation, promoting breakthroughs in key technologies and the application of scientific and technological achievements.
Efforts will be made to support county-level economies, industrial parks, and integrated development across administrative areas. Jiangsu will upgrade its free trade zones and manage overseas industrial parks effectively. Comprehensive measures will be taken to resolve issues related to real estate, local government debt, and financial risks while ensuring safety of the ecological environment.
The meeting pointed out that Jiangsu will further promote a healthy cycle of boosting consumption and expanding investment, integrate technological and industrial innovation, advance reform and opening up simultaneously, and achieve synergy between effective markets and proactive governments.
The province will coordinate urban-rural integration and regional cooperation, improve people's livelihood and prevent risks efficiently, promoting high-quality development while ensuring stability and long-term success.
