During the first three months of the year, Jiangsu’s freight trains with European and Asian countries delivered 52,870 TEUs across 652 trips, marking a year-on-year increase of 24.9%, and a monthly record of 222 freight train trips in March.

From January to March, the number of outbound and inbound train trips in Jiangsu increased by 36.8% and 10.5%, respectively, with double-digit growth achieved in Nanjing, Xuzhou, Suzhou and Lianyungang.

Notably, Lianyungang experienced a 40.1% increase as it leveraged the rail-sea intermodal transport linking east Asia and Europe. Nanjing and Suzhou moved 1,870 TEUs during the period. Wuxi and Yancheng saw the transportation of goods with 1,834 TEUs, up 123.6%. Meanwhile, Nanjing opened a new route to Baku, Azerbaijan after crossing the Caspian Sea, thereby extending the southern network of the China-Europe freight train services.

In an innovative move, Jiangsu has integrated its freight train service with the comprehensive bonded zone to lower costs for enterprises. The flexible management of containers, improved end-to-end services, and an expanded service scope have enhanced the logistics solutions for enterprises.
