Jiangsu Province has recently unveiled implementation measures aimed at ensuring the stable growth of its equipment manufacturing industry.
The province will enhance the international competitiveness of its industrial cluster for power equipment and the smart grid industrial chain, steadily expand high-end equipment industrial cluster, and significantly improve the industrial chains for engineering machinery, modern agricultural equipment, industrial machine tool, robots, precision instruments, and rail transport equipment.
Jiangsu also plans to develop the commercial aerospace sector as a key growth driver for the equipment manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, the province intends to maintain its leading position nationwide in the markets for high-tech ship and ocean engineering equipment.
Specific tasks have been outlined for bolstering key industrial chains. For example, in the smart grid sector, Jiangsu will support enterprises in participating in major national energy projects and expand the application of power equipment through national initiatives.
In the engineering machinery sector, Jiangsu will convene a meeting on the innovation-driven development of the engineering machinery cluster in Xuzhou City, one of China’s first national advanced manufacturing clusters. It will also support an international exhibition in the city and facilitate the supply and demand cooperation.
Committed to leveraging policy guidance, Jiangsu will support the purchase of advanced agricultural machinery, and assist enterprises in research and development in the rail transport sector as well as their global expansion efforts.
Efforts will also be focused on promoting implementation of industrial robots, enhancing the upstream-downstream connection in the precision instrument industrial chain, and facilitating win-win cooperation.
In addition, Jiangsu will introduce guideline on the development of low-altitude airspace industry, and pilot applications in unban management, emergency rescue, tourism, business travel and other fields. It plans to promote the scale use of drones for agricultural operations, emergency rescue and logistics.
