The first Jiangsu Culture Trade Expo opened at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia on November 17.
The expo featured 109 exhibitors from the coastal province, including 10 colleges of higher vocational education and two hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine. The displays covered silk products, Yixing purple clay teapots, Nanjing cloud brocade, and digital cultural services, such as games, animation, film production, software outsourcing and intellectual property rights.
Jiang Xin, deputy director of the province’s Department of Commerce, said that the fair serves as a professional and international exchange platform for trade in services, encompassing three types of activities - exhibition, promotion and business negotiation. It is hoped that the expo can help the two sides engage in practical cooperation and win-win development in economic and trade fields.
As part of the expo, Nanjing held its trade in services innovation development promotion in the afternoon. Nanjing, a key driver of trade in services in China, has secured second place in the comprehensive evaluation of service outsourcing in China for five consecutive years. In 2022, the city was approved to launch comprehensive pilot programs for the opening-up of the service sector.
