At the 10th Jiangsu Internet Conference in Nanjing on October 23, the province released its 2023 Digital Economy Development Report, highlighting advancements in pursuing high-quality development through information technology.
In 2022, the added value of core industries in the digital economy accounted for 11% of the province’s GDP. The electronic information manufacturing industry and the software sector posted added values of 4.2 trillion yuan and 1.3 trillion yuan, marking an increase of 18% and 16%, respectively. These figures placed them as the second and third largest nationwide.
Jiangsu also led the country with 190 projects receiving national science and technology awards. The province is home to over 40 leading enterprises in the field of electronic information, more than 9,000 high-tech enterprises, and 20,00 tech-focused SMEs.
Furthermore, Jiangsu implemented measures to combat crimes related to data security and privacy, resulting in the handling of 59 administrative cases, according to the report.
