The leading group for promoting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Jiangsu Province convened a meeting on May 11, as this year marks the 10th anniversary of the initiative.

The BRI has become a popular international public product and cooperation platform, opening up a new path to promote economic globalization.

Over the past ten years, Jiangsu has been committed to fulfilling the responsibility as an intersection of both land-based and sea-based projects and has made progress in many fields, such as gradually building a comprehensive international transportation system, deepening cooperation in international production capacity, enhancing trade ties, advancing the construction of joint industrial parks, and building a reputation in people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

The meeting stressed that Jiangsu is not only the BRI intersection but also the meeting point of the "dual circulation" development pattern. The province will take solid measures to further promote the development of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in Cambodia, the China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone, the China-Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base, and the China-Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park, creating more cooperation achievements and driving high-level opening up.

Jiangsu will also strengthen cooperation in enhancing the supply chain and industrial chain, optimize the layout of cooperative investment, and focus on science and technology innovation, digital economy, green and low-carbon development, intellectual property protection, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism.
